Hold a button, speak, and the words appear.
The user holds a key or a button on their microphone and speaks. The recognised words land in whatever field has focus in the Cameyo application. Recognition happens on the user’s own device — nothing is sent to a cloud service.
Built for the work your people already do.
Clinical notes
Consultation notes and referral letters dictated straight into the practice system.
Case and claims notes
Assessors and case workers speak their notes instead of typing them.
Reports
Long-form reports drafted by voice in the application they belong in.
Recorded dictation
Where a typist or workflow expects audio, the recording goes in as a file.
Three steps for the user. Nothing new to learn.
The application in the Cameyo session is unchanged. ASG-Deskside does the work at the desk, and sends only the finished result into the session.
Click into a field
In any application running in the session.
Hold the key and speak
A chosen key, the on-screen button, or a conference mic’s button.
Let go
The words appear in the field, in the user’s chosen language.
Speech recognition — no cloud service by default.
Default language; any supported language can be set.
Text, audio file, or both.
Arms dictation for an application.
Safe by default.
- Dictation stays on the device. If the endpoint cannot recognise speech locally, ASG-Deskside refuses rather than quietly sending audio to a cloud.
- Cloud only by choice. Cloud recognition is a separate switch, off unless IT turns it on.
- Push to talk. The microphone listens only while the key or button is held.
- Nothing on the server. No agent or audio software on the session host.
- Enabled per application. Off by default everywhere else, and it fails closed.
Windows and Chromebook.
| Desk | Status | How the device is reached |
|---|---|---|
| Windows desk | Working | Microphone and on-device recognition in Chrome; Edge uses the audio mode |
| Chromebook | Working | Microphone and on-device recognition |
Turning it on takes two steps.
Force-install the ASG-Deskside extension through Chrome or Edge policy — nothing else is needed at the desk. Then tag the application:
Configuration settings
Set on the Cameyo application (or server, group or account), one per line. Every ASG-Deskside application also carries the extension ID and channel tags; we set these up with you.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
!ASG_VOICE_PIPE | 1 | Arms dictation and shows the hold-to-talk panel. |
!ASG_VOICE_MODE | text | text, audio (recording as a file) or both. |
!ASG_VOICE_LANG | en-ZA | Recognition language. |
!ASG_VOICE_KEY | none | Hold-to-talk key, e.g. F9 — needed for microphones whose buttons the browser cannot see. |
!ASG_VOICE_CLOUD | off | Allows cloud recognition when on-device is unavailable. |
