The camera on the desk, inside the application.
The webcam already built into the user’s laptop appears in the Cameyo session as a normal Windows camera. Identity checks, onboarding and video calls work inside the virtual application exactly as they would on a local PC.
Built for the work your people already do.
Face verification
Identity and onboarding applications that need a live face, running in-session.
Customer onboarding
KYC steps that combine a selfie with the documents already being captured.
Video calls in virtual apps
Applications with built-in video work in the session without a separate client.
Visual capture
Photos of items, damage or documents taken from the desk into the application.
Three steps for the user. Nothing new to learn.
The application in the Cameyo session is unchanged. ASG-Deskside does the work at the desk, and sends only the finished result into the session.
Open the application
The camera is offered to the session only if the application is allowed to use it.
Pick the camera once
ASG-Deskside remembers the choice for that application — or IT fixes it by policy.
The application sees a webcam
Exactly as on a local PC. The camera light is off whenever it is not in use.
At up to 30 frames a second on the high setting.
Quality that adjusts to the user’s connection.
Changes to the application.
Turns the camera on for an application.
Safe by default.
- Off until switched on. Without the tag the webcam is never opened and its light stays off.
- Per application. One application can use the camera while every other application on the same estate cannot.
- The user stays in control. The browser’s own camera permission applies, and the picker shows which camera is in use.
- Nothing on the server. No driver or agent is installed on the session host.
- Enabled per application. Off by default everywhere else, and it fails closed.
Windows and Chromebook.
| Desk | Status | How the device is reached |
|---|---|---|
| Windows desk | Working | The browser’s camera APIs — nothing to install beyond the extension |
| Chromebook | Working | The browser’s camera APIs — nothing to install beyond the extension |
Turning it on takes two steps.
Force-install the ASG-Deskside extension through Chrome or Edge policy. Camera sessions are delivered through ASG-NetX’s gateway with the camera channel enabled. Then tag the application:
Configuration settings
Set on the Cameyo application (or server, group or account), one per line. Every ASG-Deskside application also carries the extension ID and channel tags; we set these up with you.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
!ASG_CAM_PIPE | 1 | Offers the desk camera to the session. Without it the webcam is never opened. |
!ASG_CAM_QUALITY | medium | low, medium, high or auto (adjusts to the link). |
!ASG_CAM_SELECT | dynamic | static never asks, dynamic asks once per app, always asks every launch. |
!ASG_CAM_DEVICE | none | Part of a camera name, to force or preselect a camera. |
